Creating Original Opera

I must admit that the word "opera" almost scared me away from this workshop put on by the New York Metropolitan Opera.  International School Manila wanted to send one music teacher and a classroom teacher.  When I was sought out as the classroom teacher, I decided to give it a go.  It was a very kid centered concept where kids did everything.  It took six months for the students to write "Once Upon a Happy Client."   Then, they made the lights, designed the costumes and makeup, created the sets, advertised, and really came up with a production to be proud of.   They were all happy clients.
