So very fortunately, the embassy in Moldova gave me a translator for my project in Chisinau. Octavian was delightful. And, more than that, he was an artist. He had just painted his first mural shortly before my arrival. I put some of the design on this ornamnet.

He did very well for his first mural. He won a trip to Paris. Not bad.

I will always remember Octavian as I paint future murals. He introduced me to the graphite pencil. It's kind of like a crayon made from pencil lead. It never needs sharpening. It took me 46 murals to finally learn this trick, but I never want to do another mural without one.
