Fiji was the dream location that I never expected to hear from. Seriously, who really thinks they'll ever get paid to go to Fiji? I thought I had a chance with the other 69 embassies I contacted. With Fiji, I threw the invitation up to the universe and thought, "It never hurts to ask".

I got the "yes" while painting in Liberia. On the same day, I was contacted by both Moldova and Fiji. Moldova asked first, so I had to hope and pray that Fiji would be flexible. Oh, so fortunately, they were.

One of my discoveries, illustrated on the lettering, was traditional cloth made from tree bark called tapa. In Fiji, the cloth is decorated with stencil prints. Originally, the stencils were made from banana leaves. Now days, people prefer x-rays.
