It was time to explore Petra when I had some friends living in Jordan. It's so very easy to travel when friends have a car. And, we headed out towards Petra as things got dark. We were soon totally lost in the Jordanian wilderness. Fortunately, a very friendly young man guided us to the main road. Of course, we offered to pay for his gas, but he said, "Welcome to Jordan." I don't know many people in any country that would have turned down a tip. I felt truly welcomed.

And, when exploring the rock city, it's one of life's "take your breath away moments".
