Christmas Always Finds Me ... in Ohio

........
My Christmas tree is so very unique.  It started when I saw Ukrainian eggs in a magazine.  I thought, "I want to have homemade ornaments on my tree."  The first ones are so awful that they never make it on the tree any more.  I used watercolor paints and Modge Podge.  At the time, they looked great, but not any more.  Just like me, they have gotten better with time.  At this point, my gree has about 800 ornaments on it.  Many of the collections, like this one, don't just illustrate Christmas carols.  They document my life on eggs shells.  This is truly no other tree like it in the world.

The tree in this illustration has a tree skirt that was made by my grandmother.  It looks like a quilt.  Then, across the top, is some Kuba cloth from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where I once went muraling.  I use the cloth as my curtains (another thing I've never seen anywhere else on the planet).
