Rock Painting with Phillip Martin
Lesson Plan

This project was born out of lack of funds. I had to use what I could find, and I found flat rocks when I went jogging. And, to my surprise, it also turned around one of my more difficult classes.  They realized I was right when I said they could do any project if they followed procedures step-by-step.

Planning is essential. Sketches and practice color schemes before touching a drop of paint elimanate mistakes and questions later on. Using what I call the "Homemade Carbon Paper" to transfer the drawing to the rock, further eases problems.  Care and patience produce stunning aboriginal results.
