Metal Tooling

.
This lesson came about when I ran out of supplies.  I used to have the students do reverse glass paintings.  Nice project, not always satisfying results.  Then, I ran out of paint and budget.  I had aluminum sheets in my room and so that was what we did.  Students use ink pens, scissors, tongue depressors, the reverse ends of paint brushes, or whatever else they can find to "tool" metal sheets from both the front and back.

I was so pleased with the quality of work the students produced.  And, to make it even better, the students claim it is one of their favorite projects.
