This calendar usually gets finished just before Christmas, and it's always a family favorite. Each month require the creation of an individual piece of art. It is quite an amazing amount of work to produce twelve quality pieces of artwork in one quarter.  The final calendar not only is an amazingly beautiful production, but it introduces several artistic experiences including block printing, pointillism, mosaic, etching, and weaving.

When the year comes to an end, nobody throws the calendar away. Many parents come back and ask for new calendar sheets for the following year so their artists can make new illustrations. I call that a successful lesson!
