Stuffed Aliens with Phillip Martin

Whenever possible, I like to integrate the art projects with what is going on in the classroom.  This is especially fun when the kids study the solar system.  I have seen stuffed pieces of art made by young children before.  They often look like they were traced from the same pattern and constructed on an assembly line.  These aliens are much different.  This activity begins with basic squares, rectangles, circles, ovals, or triangles.  Then, very unique details are added to create really unique aliens.

If you aren't studying space, you can apply the activity to sea life, dinosaurs, tropical rain forests, or whatever you find yourself teaching.
