| This is
the kind of activity that an art teacher really loves. It introduces
so much information to the students. To begin the project, students
draw a contour still life. Upon completion, the illustration is
divided into five sections. Silly me. I imagined the student
would simply use pie wedges. Many create much more interesting
divisions.
In each of the five sections, the students attempt to render the still life in a different artistic style. The project gets its name from these five selected "isms" -- Realism, Surrealism, Pointillism, Cubism, and Impressionism. |
