| The students had a lot more fun with this activity than they first imagined. Tied into their study of the Renaissance, I wanted them to create illuminated manuscripts. The final pieces were to have the "look" of and old manuscript, but the text could their own choosing. Students selected famous quotes, lyrics from favorite songs, and lines from a play in which they were involved. My personal favorite was a message directed to parents who didn't like the volume of their child's music. I told the student that one day she, too, would be that old. Of course, she thought that was impossible. | ||
