Paper Mache Masks with Phillip Martin
Lesson Plan

I really love it when my artists get excited about a project. This is one of those kinds of projects. The first step begins with strips of heavy paper. (Cut up cereal boxes work very well.) With a stapler and a whole lot of masking tape, make a mask that loosely fits the shape of the artist's head.

Then, drawing upon authentic details from research, add features to create masks from the culture of choice.
