Ceiling Tiles

If I had to make a guess, I would say this is the most popular project that I do with my students -- in spite of occasional itchy arms and legs.  I have been fortunate to work in schools that have fiberglass ceiling tiles throughout the buildings.  I use these as art galleries for permanent displays of my students' work.  And, I'm not sure who is more proud of the work, the kids, their parents, or the teacher.

There is no end to the possible subject matter.  When my art classroom was a checker board of famous masterpieces on the ceiling, we moved on to the cafeteria with Aboriginal designs.  From there I've moved to the school office with Native American patterns and the school library with African designs.  The end of available tiles is not yet in sight.
