Rain Forest Cut Outs

Students learn a good lesson about foreground, middle ground, and back ground as they create cut outs that tie into their study of the rain forest.  Very simple backgrounds are cut out, showing little detail.  Separate layers of paper indicate trees, bushes and grass.  Rain forest creatures are then applied with great detail to the foreground.   It requires a lot of patience to get the desired results, but the students realize that good art cannot be rushed.
