Paper Maché

.
This idea was born out of a low budget and using what was available -- but what a winner it is!  Connecting with a study of the deserts, students create paper maché snakes.   Giant seed pods growing on the flame trees around the campus are used as the foundation of the bodies.  Four pods are taped together (giving a magnificent slithering effect) and then covered with paper maché.  When they are completed, they still rattle.  So, I guess you could say our snakes are authentic rattle snakes.
