Mosaics lasting through the ages

.VOLUBILIS, outside of FES     In the region around Fes and Meknes were the Roman ruins of Volubilis.  It had been a thriving Roman city in the time of Christ.  The place was huge and the mosaic floors that had lasted 2000 years were incredible.   Parts of the city were reconstructed but parts remained a mess.  I decided then and there that I was not an archeologist.  When I saw the ruins in the ruins, I wondered, "Who in the world would want to mess with all of that?"

The hotel near Volubilis, at $50.00 a night, was higher than I ever spent on my own, but I was with friends and knew I should pamper myself more often.   The hotel was okay, but it was the view overlooking Volubilis that you really paid for.
