I never really noticed Art Deco until I moved to Belgium, one of the centers in the early 1900's. After exploring Antwerp and Brussels, I was eager to see some examples of Art Deco in America. There is not better example anywhere than the Chrysler Building in the above photos. The city photo was taken atop the Empire State Building, another great Art Deco experience. The painting of the Chrysler Building is inside the interior of the building.
