The STATEN ISLAND FERRY.... New York City is expensive. There is no way around that. But, one of the best treats in town in free. Yes, free, and I like that price. You can take a ride across the river to Statten Island on the ferry. It is right at the tip of Battery Park. It gives a spectacular view of lower Manhattan from the water. And, if you sit on the right side of the boat, you get another viewing of the Statue of Liberty. And, did I mention it was free?
