ART NOUVEAU . . If you are an Art Nouveau fan like me, Paris is one of the European destination requirements. Scattered across the city are 83 of the metro signs designed by Hector Guimard in the early 1900's. Only three have the elaborate glass canopies (and knowing this now requires another trip to Paris in the future). The rest or the metro signs have the flowing, plant-like art nouveau designs with the orange globes. Beautiful, absolutely, but I have to see the canopies.
