GIVERNY....A stroll through the village is almost as charming as a walk through Monet's personal garden. It has narrow streets, ivy covered buildings, flowered walkways, and a quiet little Catholic church where Monet and his family are buried.

One hundred years ago, a group of American artists interested in Impressionism founded an artists' community in Giverny. A museum commemorating their work is also located in the village.

For a lot of very practical information on how to get to Giverny and useful times, check out their website. It is worth the look. And, just so you don't waste hours like I did, check out the train schedule from Paris St. Lazare train station in advance.
