Hallgrimskirkja .....The church is atop one of the highest places in the city. It isn't hard to find, which was incredibly fortunate since my hotel was in that vicinity. On my arrival in Reykjavik, in complete darkness at nine in the morning, I followed the lights atop the church's steeple that sort of looked like a lighted Christmas tree.

I happened to stroll by as the organist played a concert. It was a soothing calm break from the harsh cold outside. Outside the church stood a statue of Leif Erikson. The poor guy never got to come in from the cold.
