EDINBURGH CASTLE . .Feet were walked and worn across the winding streets of Edinburgh. And, there certainly were a lot of sites to behold. When traveling with my friends, those stops included book shops and Starbucks. I must say that that Starbucks in Edinburgh got my vote for the most beautiful one in the world. It had antique windows with beveled glass. That in itself was stunning, but the view outside the windows was the Castle of Edinburgh. Totally amazing! And, the sky was blue with white fluffy clouds. It was a great day to be in Scotland.

The castle was like a small city inside those massive walls. A wedding took place while we were visiting. Oh, my! The waiting list for that chapel must be quite long. There were lots of kilts and a bagpiper in full regalia. So, I invited myself along with a zillion other on-lookers, to take photos.

If you visit Scotland in August (which I seriously should have done at some point), Edinburgh Castle is the scene for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. It has nothing to do with ink but everything to do with singers, dancers, gymnasts and a whole lot of pipers. After an evening of entertainment, the event culminates with a lone bagpiper playing atop the castle. It's said to be magical.
