HALL CROFT ..Susanna, Shakespeare's oldest daughter, married Dr. John Hall. Perhaps it was an arranged marriage because they were both a little old at the time. She was 26 and he was 32. (One guide said life expectancies were around 34 and 37 in those days.) William Shakespeare must have had an easier life than most because he died at age 52. When he died, John and Susanna left Hall Croft to move into New House with Anne Hathaway.
