a warm smile in a hot place

GAZA STRIP A.... While northern Israel and Palestine had good water supplies and a lot of greenery, the south was desolate. Most of it was made up of the Negev Desert. It was very hot and very, very brown. From what I could see, it wasn't worth all of the conflict that the Israelis and Palestinians made over it.

I passed through the Gaza Strip and crossed the Suez Canal on my way to Eqypt. Soldiers told tourists it was a military post and no photos were allowed. How could they put a military post in a spot where every normal tourist would want a photo? I took mine as soon as we were in the middle of the canal.
