I went to the Istanbul Train Station that was the site of the Orient Express. I had to have tea in the restaurant because it was so very elegant. Naturally, in Istanbul it was apple tea. Just next to the bar was a hall where my real destination was located. I came to see a demonstration of whirling dervishes. I should have gone without a camera. That way I'd have just enjoyed the moment. It was so graceful. I had expected something like the Tasmanian Devil, but it wasn't that at all. It was simply elegant, gentle spinning and over way too soon. MARTIN |
