Belize was an interesting little island of English in a sea of Spanish. I know there aren't a lot of positive things to say about European colonization, but I must admit, it was so nice to speak English in what was once British Honduras. But, everything looked the same as what I experienced in the rest of Central America. I couldn't help saying "gracias" before I said "thank you". It just came out automatically.

Nestled along the Caribbean shores, Belize had wonderful beaches and great fishing. Many people into water sports traveled long distances to enjoy San Pedro and Caye Caulker. I am not a beach person and I don't ever fish. I can't give you information on those topics, but I did have a very good time in Belize from the Caribbean islands to Belize City and on to San Ignacio (along with Xunantunich and Cahal Pech) up on the Guatemala border.
