PUERTO VILLAMIL... .This town on Isabela has the charm that I remembered long ago in Puerto Ayora. With a population of 2,500 people, it's a much calmer, cozier, peaceful way of life. I liked it instantly.

The town is built along a beautiful white sand beach and lined with palm trees (which were imported long ago to the town). It wasn't till after I left that I realized I worked so hard on my mural (and it rained so much) that I didn't get pictures of the palms or the beach.

Fortunately, I did get to photograph the flamingos in the area as well as some of the many mangroves. I even squeezed in an afternoon tour to a neighboring island named Tintoreras ( white tipped shark ).
